WADG Christmas Hotline Number: This is a real good promotion to set up appointment listening, which is a direct link to increasing TSL. Here is how it works. You tell listeners to listen at several specific time windows of the day (Example: between 7:00a-7:30a, 9:00a - 9:30a etc.). If they are the first caller, at a Christmas Cue To Call, they get to guess Christmas Hotline phone number.

You give them the first three numbers of the seven digit number. They guess the number, you then play the pre-produced sounder that is the phone dialing, ringing, then...It is either one of your personalities telling the person they just won or it is the traditional series of tones with the operator saying, “The number you have dialed is no longer in service...” You can have a lot of fun with this. Make sure you make the prize significant. Though this contest seems easy, it is actually very difficult mathematically. To add a twist to this, you can announce additional digits every Thursday, BUT the listener still has to give the correct order of the numbers. *Some stations will choose to give away smaller prizes BUT give all 7 digits right up front and then listeners have to give the numbers in the proper sequence. *Make sure you tell you listeners to keep track of ALL the incorrect number to increase their chance of winning.


WADG’s Best Christmas Ever:
Over the next few days have listeners submit names of families that are less fortunate than many. After reading through the submissions, choose five families to contact. Each family will win a Christmas shopping spree, making it their best Christmas Ever. Contact each family and get their permission to record a conversation between you and them on the air. You listeners will really appreciate what you are doing for your community.

 


WADG 3 Song Holiday Hit Package For Free Money: Run promos that specify 3 holiday songs that will be played back-to-back sometime during the day or week. When they hear all three songs played back-to-back, they simply have to be the X # caller to win cash and or other prizes. *You can send an e-mail to your frequent listeners with the 3 song snippets included as an MP3 file to give them an added advantage for being a loyal listener.

 

WADG Great Christmas Gift Exchange: The day after Christmas have listeners call in with a gift that they want to exchange with other listeners. Jessica has a RadioShack gift card and Tom would like to trade for his Bed, Bath and Beyond gift card. You can have lots of fun with this.
