Getting in on the
ground floor of the Red River Opry aka the Red River Music Hall in
Tempe, Arizona, Vikki performed as one of the four main singers in
shows that ran over 9 years. She was also able to show off her
comedic wit in comedy skits for the show developing her character,
“Viola Mae Twittle” who became a huge favorite in the shows. She has
also put together a Viola Mae cook book entitled “Twittles Vittle’s”.
The Red River Opry
aka Red River Music Hall shows were Variety Music shows mixed with
comedy and a Christmas Show during Nov-December’s. The earlier shows
were produced by Mark Prentice who now resides and produces in
Nashville, TN.
Then in the later
years, the show were produced by Michael Barnard, who is the
Producing Artistic Director for Phoenix Theatre. Vikki has recorded
several country CD’s, was awarded “ACMA Female Vocalist of the Year”
and “ACMA Female Entertainer of the Year” 2000, sang many radio
jingles and demos.
Before getting in
with Red River Opry, Vikki fronted her own band and they opened in
concert for many nationally known Artists in the Country scene, just
to name a few: Eddie Rabbit, The Forester Sisters, T. Graham Brown,
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Neil McCoy, Marty Stewart, John Anderson,
Ray Kennedy, Mike Reid, Bellamy Brothers and Gatlin Brothers.
Vikki also was
Arizona’s state champion and named Ms Country Music USA where she
performed with Tammy Wynette on the Grand Old Opry in Nashville.
Vikki went to
broadcasting school and then over to WILD COUNTRY when it first
started (a part of KNIX but after 1 year, they were off air). From
there she went to KMLE Country Radio for 2 years as their Over-Night
DJ and then to KNIX Radio for 2 years as their Weekend On-Air
personality. Vikki still performed at the Red River Opry then after
that show go to the radio station to do her shift.
She has opened in
concert for/sang with such known Christian Artists as Lincoln
Brewster, Ron Kenoly, Parachute Band, ReZound and Carman to name a
few.
Vikki has also led
praise and worship for TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Paula White, Jesse
Duplantis, Myles Monroe, Rod Parsley, Gregory Dickow, Kenneth &
Gloria Copeland and others.
Vikki is currently
Music Director for Living Word Bible Church, a church of 10,000
members, where she is the main worship leader in the sanctuary,
manages 6 bands, 4 praise teams and choir.
