Movement: Michelle Price has been named OM at WAY FM's new Clarksville, TN station that is scheduled to debut in October at 88.3 FM. Michelle has previous experience in Christian Radio at Flow 93.5 Toronto, KXHT  Memphis and WNPL Nashville.

WAY-FM / South Florida has completed their power increase project that was originally announced September 12, 2002. The new signal boost has increased their signal strength throughout Broward County, including all of Ft. Lauderdale to just south of Hollywood. The new antenna on a new tower has gone from 460 ft to 1050 ft increasing to 50,000 watts from 37,000 watts. The potential listening audience has increased to 3.6 million people from 1.9 million. Ever wonder what worship songs churches are using most. Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) has released its list of Top Songs from the most recent Church Reporting Period, October 2002 through March 2003. "The CCLI Top 25 List is a true benchmark for church music, since it represents a clear measure of which songs the churches are using most in their congregational singing," said Howard Rachinski, Founder and President/CEO of CCLI.  Here are the Top 25 Songs, as reported by churches across the United States:

The R&R Christian Summit that was to take place in Dallas next month has been called off and will be rescheduled to next year. In the release R&R executives stated "after careful evaluation of the Christian marketplace, R&R recognizes that this year's summit is ill timed with consideration to the changing economics of the music industry. Crowne Music Group announces a strategic partnership with Tovah Records. Started as a platform to showcase upcoming Messianic Jewish talent, Tovah currently has 5 artists signed to its roster. The label is not limiting itself to any religious / denominational titles, as it plans to sign acts in the contemporary Christian and latin genres in the near future. The first release under this partnership will be Marty Goetz, and his new project “Songs of Israel”. 

Crowne Music is home for Seventh Day Slumber, a hard band; Motivo, a Latin pop group; and Larnelle Harris and prides itself in diversity. Both Tovah and Crowne Music are located in Franklin, TN and are distributed through Word Entertainment / WEA. (8/18)


After almost four years, The UnNamed Daily free show prep service is going to cease publication in all of its forms.  That means The UnNamed Daily will no longer be available at www.MarlarHouse.com, it won't be emailed to its members, and it will no longer be available at www.HisAir.net either... sorry!  Founder Darren Marlar says "God is working in areas of my life and career that require me to focus my energies and efforts in directions other than a free show prep service - although I will truly miss doing it every single day."  The last day of free prep will be this Friday, August 15th, 2003. (8/14)

WQFL Rockford Program Director/Morning Drive Host, Mike "The SchloMan" Schlote has resigned his position effective August 22, 2003.  "It is not a matter of leaving QFL or accepting a different position elsewhere, but rather our specific calling to obey God's will and timing in our lives.  Keep checking these pages to see what God has done!" CMRadio Networks ( www.cmradio.net ), announces that it will once again partner with the Purple Door Festival to provide live audio streaming of the event. Purple Door the premier alternative Christian arts and music festival on the east coast, will be held August 15th and 16th in Lewisberry, PA and features three stages of music, an art gallery, paintball, and skate park. CMRadio.Net will stream all three stages as well as live interviews and commentary of the two-day event. Johnny Stone will exit the morning show "The Fish" WZFS Chicago and join Star 99.1 WAWZ New York as their new PD and morning personality. Star PD Scott Taylor will become the stations Assitant Manager while Stone starts his new position September 1st. (8/7)


Scott Michaels is named PD / Morning personality at "Spirit 93" KKJM St. Cloud, MN. Scott will be in the big chair starting August 25th. Scott was previously with WQCK Baton Rouge and WCLQ Wausau. (8/5)

Salem Communications announced results for the quarter ending June 30, 2003. Edward G. Atsinger III, President and CEO, said, "Salem's results demonstrate a strong and successful performance for the first half of 2003, despite an uncertain economic environment. Our same station revenue growth rates have, once again, led the industry as a result of the continued growth of our music stations, complemented by the consistent and reliable nature of our block programming business. This revenue growth, combined with careful cost management, has resulted in a very noteworthy 21% growth in station operating income."  Meanwhile Salem also announced that it has closed the acquisition of WJGR 1320AM, WZNZ 1460AM, WZAZ 1400AM and WBGB 106.5FM, in Jacksonville, for approximately $8.5 million, from Concord Media Group Inc. These stations will continue to be programmed in their existing formats. (8/4)
