Christian Radios Dirty Little Secret

Sounds crazy doesn’t it?

What could Christian radio and the porn industry have in common?

Unfortunately more than you would think. I have written and rewritten this story more times than I can count. As I start to write it I delete it out of fear or sounding like an alarmist or offending someone. I am also aware of the spotlight that it puts me under personally. But the truth remains that there are direct ties to the Christian Radio industry, maybe even your station and the porn industry.

Let’s start with a disclaimer. No one in Christian radio intentionally does business with the porn industry. However, unknowing, close to one hundred stations do.  Many hosting companies, webhosting, email and streaming companies do business in industries other than just Christian radio.

But unbeknownst to the radio station or sometimes even churches their hosting company on the same server as theirs will be pornographic websites. There are several ways to find out if you’re doing business with a company that deals in porn. The first is to look at the terms and conditions of use posted on the provider’s site. If there is no mention on restrictions of adult material mentioned in this form odds are they host sites that are not exactly “family friendly”.  Another way is on the bottom of most sites it lists who is the developer and hosting company. If you are in Christian radio do not be shocked to see your providers name at the bottom of many of those pages.

The Christian radio industry can choose to take a stand. A stand against working with and sending donor dollars to companies the work in an industry that is destroying families all over the world. Or turn a blind eye, pretend it does not happen.

I challenge you to take a look at your station and the people you do business with.

ChristianNetcast is the parent company of ChristianNetcast.com, CNC Technologies, MainstreamNetwork and NWR Network. ChristianNetcast.com was birthed in 1999, in what many would consider the most unlikely place to establish an internet company. While many internet startups were based in the Silicon Valley, ChristianNetcast.com was started in what used to be the lumber capital of the world, Bangor Maine. Todd VanTasel and David Palmer, founders of ChristianNetcast.com were attending a local church and saw the need to have the churches services broadcasted on the internet. When other ministries learned how the church was using this new streaming technology, they soon wanted to use the same type of tools for their church. The word about ChristianNetcast.com quickly spread and the company began to receive international recognition and was featured on television and radio programs such as Fox News, CBN, 700 Club and TBN. In 2006 the company moved its headquarters to Virginia Beach VA. ChristianNetcast.com currently serves over 500 ministries worldwide. Contact David at
